29th July 2016

We joined Henry Holland and Habitat recently at the launch of the designer’s first collaboration with the furniture brand.

Our photo booth with custom fabric backdrop kept guests at the launch party posing and sharing all night. Known for his sassy slogan prints (our favourite – a sweatshirt with the slogan, ‘Every time you walk by it smells like McDonald’s in a bad way’) Henry’s team also ordered some custom printed speech bubbles with suitably sassy wording.

We added social sharing kiosks to the package to make sure the launch night got its fair share of attention online. The #henryforhabitat hashtag saw plenty of action on Twitter too, with organisers running a Twitter contest in the runup to the event, with VIP tickets to the launch as a prize.

The party took place at Habitat’s Tottenham Court road store and included fruity cocktails and a DJ to match the psychedelic prints Mr Holland used in his first homewares collection. Said to the inspired by the 1970 and the trippy movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, his cushions, rug, throws and seating are fairly sure to add a bit of spice to any drab interior.

Some of our old favourite props fitted in perfectly with the style of the event, including the perennial flamingo and retro pack. The custom designed photo strips were created by the client to match the snazzy seascape print backdrop.

If you’re a bit out of touch with the fashion designer scene, the House of Holland label is now 13 seasons strong after a breakthrough collection back in 2006. Clothes are stocked at some of London’s swankiest stockists, including Selfridges and Harvey Nicks.

Right, now let’s have a look at this crowd of fashion-forward Henry groupies and Habitat staff and see what they got up to in the booth.

Blues Brothers

Woah these guys have it going ON. Matching blue blazers coordinating with the backdrop and their Blue Steel expressions.

Lens Frenzy

Our booth operator Stan providing an unusual tableau of a photo of photographers photographing each other. Why not take a photo of this photo to add a whole ‘nother layer of fun.

Pretty in Pink

As pink as can be. This lady has some serious salmon sass going on.

Say What?

Speech bubbles are best used on other people. Putting words in someone else’s mouth is risky, especially when your significant other seems to be casting aspersions on your character…

Natural Habitat

Habitat staff get in on the booth action and enjoy larking about with our retro telephone and flamingo props. Thinking perhaps we should get old Henry to design a few backdrops for us, this bizarre collection of sea creatures is mental… check out the video below for more of the party vibe:

A huge thanks to Habitat for a splendid evening and to Henry and his team for being big fun. For more photo booth events and ideas check out our Instagram, Facebook (UK or Australia) or Pinterest pages and get all social with us.
