NBA comes to
Melbourne. Cards get printed.

// The Event

The NBA x NBL Melbourne Series brought real basketball to Australia.

The New Orleans Pelicans faced off against Melbourne's two NBL home teams in a landmark series. Alongside the on-court action, 2K26 built an immersive fan experience — the House of 2K — where guests could play every version of the game since its inception. Ronnie 2K and Ray Allen were on hand for meet-and-greets.

// What We Did

A custom trading card activation, driven by live game data.

HeyOK's Pro Booth sat at the heart of the House of 2K. Guests played, earned stats in real time via a custom portal, then scanned a QR code to pull their data directly into a personalised NBA 2K26-style trading card. No manual entry. No wait. Just a physical keepsake built from their actual gameplay.

// The Outcome

1,200+ cards printed across three days.

The activation ran for the full duration of the series. Throughput stayed high, the integration held up under load, and guests left with something genuinely personal — a player card with their face, their stats, their rating.

Play. Earn stats. Walk away with a card.

The guest journey was built around a single, satisfying payoff — a physical NBA 2K26 player card that reflected real gameplay data. The Pro Booth was the final step in that journey.

QR code to card in under 30 seconds.

Guests finished their session in the House of 2K, then scanned the QR code on their custom player portal. Their stats — defence, shooting, finishing, playmaking — pulled through automatically. At the Pro Booth, they confirmed their details on the branded touchscreen interface and their card was produced on the spot.

The integration between the 2K portal and HeyOK's Pro Booth was purpose-built for this activation. It handled real-time data retrieval, custom card rendering, and high-volume throughput across all three days without friction.
