The Photo Booth Guys were honoured to be invited along to the RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run for breast cancer that took place in Brisbane recently.
9,000 pink-clad runners and walkers raised over $200,000 to support the work of Mater Chicks in Pink in cancer research and providing support to women and families affected by breast cancer. The 5km course wound through Brisbane’s scenic South Bank precinct, also taking in the city centre and Botanic Gardens.
Wall of Fame
Every runner dedicated their run to someone they knew who had been affected by breast cancer. They wrote the name of that person onto their ID badge and posted these up onto a dedicated wall after the race to create a moving tribute to the many women affected by the disease.
Booth Time
The Photo Booth Guys were on hand to provide a photographic record of the day and we needed our two booths to handle the big demand! Runners took away a selection of pics of themselves either looking fresh before the race or perhaps slightly less fresh but super happy afterwards.
Fighters & Conquerors
Mater Chicks in Pink provide funding to cutting-edge cancer research, as well as organising quick-response services for women battling the disease. For example, they might give out cleaning vouchers during treatment to help ease the burden at home, cover the cost of care following surgery, or provide yoga classes or art therapy sessions to help women process their cancer journey.
All in all an amazing day for a brilliant organisation and a very worthy cause! The atmosphere on the day was fabulous – a real celebration of life, family and friendship, with lots of kids joining in and often many generations of the same family running side by side.
Huge thanks from The Photo Booth Guys to RACQ, Mater Chicks in Pink and the beautiful city of Brisbane for such a great day… we’re already looking forward to next year!
