We pulled on our wellies (real word for gumboots, Aussies), shoved a few daisies in our hair and headed off to the UK’s V Festival back in August for some activation fun with LG.

Lips

LG got our InstaPrinta on board as part of its Club G4 Experience at the sister North/South festivals in Stafford and Chelmsford respectively… visitors were invited to have a bit of a dance in LG’s mobile disco and try taking a selfie using the new handset’s Gesture Shot technology. When hashtagged #LGG4Selfie these selfie zoomed over to our Instaprinta, where glorious prints were issued forthwith.

Ravers

This new Gesture Shot techno-voodoo allows you to stand in front of the phone’s camera and take a photo just by making an opening fist gesture. You then get three seconds to pose, not unlike our glorious photo booths! There’s a also a feature where if you make two fists in quick succession the phone takes four selfies in a row, just to capture every glorious angle.

Raining

UK/US brand experience agency Cake brought us in for this gig. They are a very cool crew indeed – also responsible for great campaigns like the IKEA sleepover video and Ben & Jerry’s ‘Sundae on the Common’ festival. They created the G4 printout you see here, giving guests a cute branded memento of their first Gesture Shot experience. Aw.

You mug

LG3

These half-face masks went down a storm with the V crowd! Put a smile on your face why don’t you…

Miley mask?

LG2

Is that a red-haired, moustachioed man with unusually piercing eyes? Does that guy at the back have impressively delicate pursed lips? Does the girl on the right have a Miley Cyrus mask on? Who knows but it looks fun.

Ravers

LG1

Well, everyone had a splendid time in the G4 lounge posing and Gesture Shot-ing away. Both V Festivals were a blast, with the likes of Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding and Kasabian bringing the noise.

Virgin recharge

Festivals are the perfect place for mobile phone activations! Revellers desperate to hold their phone screens up during performances so the people behind couldn’t see queued up to keep their telephones fully charged up (we’re not bitter at all!).

If your name’s not on the list…

Fellas

LG brought in the muscle for that authentic clubbing atmosphere. Got any ID mate?

Drop the beat

DJ

The DJ had the challenge of getting the punters dancing in the brief time they had in front of the G4… needless to say he was dropping beats all over the place.

How many times?

Ladies

While none of us at The Photo Booth guys are old enough to recall Lennon specs from the first time around, but we do remember the 90s resurgence… and here they are again! Kids these days eh.

Big, big thank you to Cake and LG for wild times at the north and south V Festivals… who knows, perhaps soon we’ll have some gesture-activated booths!

Our Instagram, Facebook (UK or Australia) or Pinterest pages are a great place to go if you need more festivals, weddings, parties and general photo booth madness in your world.
